About Us
Nondestructive Testing
The Nondestructive Testing Industry plays a key function within the Construction Industry in Canada. The Industry is comprised of highly specialized technicians who ensure that building materials, fabrication and joining processes and new repairs meet strict industry standards. Specialized means such as radiography (x-ray), ultrasound, magnetic particle inspection and liquid penetrant are used to evaluate areas that are difficult or impossible to examine using the naked eye. This equipment allows the technicians to detect such things as internal corrosion or evaluate the integrity of a welded structure.
Plan Management and Operation
The Plans are established in accordance with and funded under the terms of the Collective Agreement between the Nondestructive Testing Management Association and the Quality Control Council of Canada.
Boards of Trustees
The Plans and related Trust Funds are each managed by a Board of Trustees. The Trustees are responsible for managing the funds and establishing the benefit levels and other Plan provisions, based on available funding and consistent with applicable legislation and the terms of the Collective Agreement.
Administration
The Trustees appoint and work with a team of professional advisors, including administrators, investment managers, investment consultants, and lawyers. The Trustees have appointed D.A. Townley as our Administrator to handle day to day administration of both the Health Benefits and Pension Plans. The Administrator operates under the overall direction of the Trustees.
