23.01 In the event of the death of a
member of an employee's immediate family, the employee will be
allowed to take time off without loss of pay to a maximum of
three (3) days (five (5) days for spouse or common law spouse,
parents and
dependent children) for the purpose of attending the funeral.
Pay shall be eight (8) hours per day at the applicable
rate.
Immediate family shall be limited to mother, father, sister,
brother, spouse or common law spouse, child, mother-in-law, father-in-law,
son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren.
23.02 Jury Duty
If an employee is summoned or subpoenaed for jury duty
selection, the employer shall grant the employee
leave-of-absence with pay up to a maximum of one (1) month. The
rate of pay shall be the difference between his regular pay at
the non-chargeable rate and the monies received for jury duty.
This shall apply to any employee covered by this Agreement who
is employed at the time of the employee's receipt of a call
for jury duty.
